Shouldn't we focus on solving homelessness? Why just a handout for a day? 

Hope for today can mean life tomorrow.

Of course, we want to see homelessness end. We want to address the systems, barriers, and circumstances that cause people to lose housing in the first place. But while we work toward those long-term solutions, our neighbors still have needs today.

Hunger still comes. Rain still falls. Temperatures still drop. Shelters fill to capacity. Permanent housing may not be available.

Be:loved Bus stands in the gap between today's needs and tomorrow's solutions.

Sometimes what is most important is simply helping someone make it through today without giving up hope for tomorrow. A meal. A bottle of water. A pair of socks. A hygiene kit. A smile. A hello. A reminder that someone sees you and cares.

These things may not solve homelessness—but they can help carry a person from today into tomorrow.

Because sometimes hope for another day is the first step toward a better one.
